SCOPE
What You’ll Do:
- Perform and coordinate all ultrasound exams with precision and care, ensuring top-tier image quality and efficiency.
- Work closely with our medical team to provide timely, accurate results that support patient care and decision-making.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality ultrasound procedures as ordered, ensuring accuracy and precision. Provide expert guidance to physicians on the need for additional or modified imaging studies.
- Escort patients to the treatment room and assist with dressings as needed. Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed for timely ultrasound services.
- Develop, process, and log ultrasound images, maintaining detailed records of all procedures performed.
- Prioritize patient and staff safety by following strict safety protocols and ensuring a comfortable, reassuring environment.
- Conduct daily quality control checks on imaging equipment, reporting any malfunctions and arranging for preventive maintenance as recommended by the vendor.
- Manage outside ultrasound image requests, including ordering, logging, and returning images with proper documentation.
- Coordinate the release of images to patients and outside agencies, maintaining accurate paperwork for tracking loaned images.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Expertise in breast and pelvic ultrasounds is essential as these are key to providing the exceptional care our patients rely on. Experience in DVT detection and abdominal ultrasounds is a plus and would further diversify ultrasound offerings at Akira in the future.
The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited ultrasound technology program, with a strong foundation in diagnostic imaging and a minimum of three years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist. Registered ultrasound technologist (ARDMS) certification is required, and current CPR certification is essential to ensure patient safety and readiness for emergencies.

The physical demands of this job typically require a full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination for the operation and repair of all department equipment. The position requires lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds and lifting and pushing patients in wheelchairs or stretchers weighing up to 300 pounds and positioning them appropriately for equipment operation. The role also requires the ability to reach above shoulder height and sit and stand for extended periods. Corrected vision and hearing within normal range are required.
