llinois CancerCare has a student summer intern position available in the Facilities department. Interested students will work up to 20 hours per week for 6 to 8 weeks. Our summer internship program is designed to give high school, undergraduate and medical school students a chance to gain experience in a healthcare facility.
Pay: $15.00/hr

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Data entry and cataloging of items in the asset program system.
- Type serial number and model numbers into the program.

Special Physical Requirements
- Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires the ability to distinguish and transcribe letters and numbers without transposition.
- Requires the use of office equipment such as computer, scanner, telephone, copier, printer, fax machine. Ability to work on a desktop computer for extended periods of time.
- May require working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
Safety Considerations/Typical Working Conditions
- Work is performed in a medical office. There may be some interaction with Illinois CancerCare staff and physicians, as well as contact with non-Illinois CancerCare individuals.
- The employee has limited exposure to toxic substance and is expected to be familiar with the dangers and proper handling of such.
- The employee may be exposed to communicable diseases and other conditions common to the clinical environment.
- Safety policies and good health practices are to be understood and observed.
Qualifications
- High school or college student.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Highly organized.
