Now Hiring Pharmacist for a Medical Oncology Clinic with Infusion Site and Retail Pharmacy

PRN- Office hours (M-F 7:30-4:30) Up to 16 hrs. a week

No evenings nor weekends, and closed on major holidays

Oncology experience preferred, but not required, we train on-site

 

 

 

 

Missouri Cancer Associates is a multi-specialty practice including medical oncology, hematology, radiation oncology and urology.  We have 22 providers that service ten Missouri communities. Our main office is in Columbia. Through state-of-the-art medical technology, highly experienced physicians and nurse practitioners and quality patient care, Missouri Cancer Associates has become the premier Cancer Treatment Center in Mid-Missouri.  In 2022, we celebrated our 40th year of taking care of patients!

We are looking for a friendly and hard-working Pharmacist to join our team. Candidates should have an outgoing and friendly demeanor, a positive work ethic, and have a track record of working well with others in a team environment. We prefer applicants who have customer service experience. You must exemplify the values of our company and provide our patients with the highest levels of care.

SCOPE:

 Under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care, i.e., exams, and procedures. Performs clinic support tasks including miscellaneous clerical tasks, answering phones, and maintaining physician’s schedule. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and US Oncology’s Shared Values.


Responsibilities

  • Dispense and perform patient consultations for oral chemotherapy
  • Preparing and dispensing chemotherapy for in-clinic use
  • Submitting Prior Authorizations and Appeals for our practice physicians
  • Organizes and directs technician workflow
  • Assist with inventory control for retail and clinic medications and supplies
  • Receives new drug education from drug representatives; remains abreast of new information.
  • Work closely with our doctors, their collaborative nurses, and our clinic nurses to provide the best care for our patients
  • Maintains confidentially of all information related to patients and medical staff.
  • May supervise the activities of pharmacy technicians.
