Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of radiation therapists, simulation therapists, and mold technicians.
- Ensure the delivery of effective radiation therapy treatment by supervising and supporting staff.
- Uphold the US Oncology Compliance Program, including adherence to the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
- Conduct interviews, hire, train, and manage the performance of team members.
- Provide instruction to newly hired staff and students on equipment use and procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient appointment schedules and billing information.
- Deliver and accurately record radiation therapy treatments in collaboration with a radiation oncologist.
- Conduct chart audits, participate in quality assurance procedures, and interpret computerized treatment plans.
- Create custom molds and perform basic dosimetry tasks with precision.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy program.
- Minimum of five years of active practice as a Registered Radiation Therapist (RTT).
- ARRT certification and valid state license for radiation therapy required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Proficiency with treatment planning computer components.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and lift 40-pound blocks.
- Strong visual acuity for monitoring treatment displays and fields.
- Effective communication skills for patient and staff interaction.
- Mobility to assist patients and maintain documentation.
