Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Escorting: Guide patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Vital Data Recording: Capture essential patient data before each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and any medication changes.
- Record Management: Gather all necessary patient records required by the physician prior to treatment or procedures.
- Room Preparation: Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies, ensuring readiness for patient care.
- Procedure Assistance: Support physicians during exams and procedures as requested.
- Injection Administration: Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, as delegated by an RN or physician.
- Disinfection Protocols: Maintain exam/treatment room disinfection protocols to uphold a safe and clean environment.
- Patient Communication: Handle patient telephone inquiries, refer calls to appropriate healthcare professionals, and manage patient communication as directed.
- Prescription Management: Phone in prescriptions and make necessary patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
- Schedule Management: Inform physicians of patient reschedules and no-shows.
- Administrative Support: Perform various administrative tasks such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, and reception duties as requested by your supervisor or physician.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent. Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred. This is an entry level position requiring 0-3 years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant. Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire. Certified Medical Assistant preferred. Some state regulations may require specific certifications in order to work as a Medical Assistant.
