Texas Oncology is looking for a PET Assistant to join our team! This position will support the Mobile San Antonio Pet Tech in San Antonio TX.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
- Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
- Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
- Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.
- Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
- Depending on practice-specific protocols, may be asked to obtain.
- Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, as delegated by RN or physician.
- Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
- Responds to patients’ calls as requested.-Performs other administrative duties, i.e. typing, filing faxing reception, etc, as requested by supervisor or physician.
- Alerts nurse/physician of abnormal vitals, any important information given by patient.
- Collection of inbound meaningful use data. Flu documentation, initial height and weight.
- Prints med list for patient to review.
- Fill out disability forms.
- Schedule blood transfusions, therapeutic phlebotomies, ordering special tests (Oncotypes, Kras testing, EGFR (epidural growth factor receptor), Myraid, Paradigm, etc).
- May enter orders under a provider’s direction and supervision.
- Ensures complete and accurate accumulation and/or transfer of patient records. May provide copies of film or digital media to physicians and/or patients as needed.
- Provides patient transport and lifting assistance.
- May perform patient archiving and other data backup on acquisition and processing stations as needed. Ensures completion of data transfer to remote workstations. Performs data management on the processing workstation. Tracks and reports facility utilization.
- Provides general facility maintenance assistance as needed. May assist in preparation of mobile coach for transport. Maintains service logs for scanner and mobile coach as needed
- Verifies and prepares patient schedules.
- Maintains inventories as directed.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent. Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred. Three to five years Healthcare experience required. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required. Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
